Why did I call it "Aural Contraception"?
The album name was inspired by a line in a Marillion song
The song is "Fugazi" from the album of the same name
"Sheathed within the walkman wear the halo of distortion,
Aural contraceptive aborting pregnant conversation".
It describes a man on a subway train listening to his personal stereo, shutting out everything around him, protecting himself, shielding himself from the need to interact with his fellow travellers just listen, lose yourself for a while, shut out the pain and misery of a cruel world.
That's why I called it "Aural Contraception"
